Having dispatched the New York Jets in Week 7, Miami returns to South Florida to host the New England Patriots in a late-afternoon Week 8 contest.
The Dolphins moved to 1-5 on the season with their victory, using their Week 6 bye week to make adjustments and continue the growth of the league's youngest team and, ultimately, land the first victory for head coach Jeff Hafley. Now they will look to upset the Patriots, who fell to 4-3 this year with a Week 7 Thursday night loss to the Chicago Bears.
The Patriots at Dolphins game is one of only two games in the late-afternoon slot – but the Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos game is nearly a national broadcast with Miami-New England relegated to local networks.
The game is on CBS with Andrew Catalon, Logan Ryan, and A.J. Ross on the call. The current plan is for Miami, West Palm Beach, and Fort Myers to pick up the game in Florida, while the New England region, from Connecticut and Rhode Island through Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire, and across Maine getting the broadcast.
Otherwise, the country will see the Chiefs and Broncos. Broadcast plans can still be adjusted, with local CBS affiliates shifting the game they will air, but for now, it is an extremely limited region for the Dolphins-Patriots contest.
Patriots at Dolphins in blue | 506Sports.com What other games will I see in Florida? 1 p.m. Eastern time slot CBS will air the Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens game to start the day in South Florida, including Miami, West Palm Beach, and Fort Myers, up through Tampa. The rest of the state, north from Orlando and across the Panhandle, will see the Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars game.
The FOX broadcast plan is more broken across the state. Miami will see the Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets game. West Palm Beach is slated to see the Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions game, while the majority of the rest of the state will have the Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. Jacksonville will not have a game on FOX to avoid the conflict of the local broadcast on CBS. The western end of the Panhandle will get the Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys game.
We covered the FOX plan for the late slot when discussing the Dolphins game. CBS does not have the doubleheader, this week, but Jacksonville will have the Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams game.
The Sunday Night Football game this weekend will feature the Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders game.
