Cheesed off with snoring? Try eating more cheddar. Despite many people thinking the opposite, research suggests that cheese may in fact reduce the risk of severe snoring. A major study of 400,000 people in the UK has revealed that eating cheese regularly is linked to a 28 per cent lower risk of sleep apnoea, which often causes problem snoring. Writing in the Sleep Medicine journal, researchers said they had linked 'higher cheese intake to a reduced likelihood of developing sleep apnoea' and said that not enough attention had been paid to the 'connection with diet'.
