Festival Fix was founded by Heather Brittain, an independent filmmaker who serves as vice chair of the Garden State Film Festival, and is a member of the Film Festival Alliance, New York Women in Film & Television, and Women in Media. Brittain is also a festival strategist whose company Film Festival Insider helps "demystify" the film festival experience.
Festival Fixr is intended to eliminate the extensive research filmmakers often undertake to submit their work to different film festivals. Its makers say it identifies the festivals that most align with an artists goals, such as their likelihood of raising visibility for a project, improving its awards potential, as well as the networking benefits it offers and the chances it provides in terms of securing distribution. It then helps track and organize the process of deadlines and submissions. In addition, it can rewrite loglines, synopses, and bios using storytelling hooks that it says will resonate with programmers. Other offerings include polishing the film's IMDb presence. Festival Fixr also recommends moves that artists can take after a festival has ended to keep up the momentum around a project.
The tool is priced at $47 a month or $470 a year.
"This platform is about shifting power back into the hands of filmmakers," said Brittain. "Too many exceptional films are left behind because the creators don't have a six-figure budget, insider connections, or a clear strategy. Festival Fixr changes that."
