For a generation of young millennials, Ron Howard's *How the Grinch Stole Christmas* (2000) has become as important a holiday tradition as Dr. Seuss' original children's book and 1966 animated special. This live-action adaptation expands the story of the titular curmudgeonly creature who hopes to ruin Christmas for the happy citizens of Whoville, giving us a glimpse into his tragic childhood and adding new characters.

Jim Carrey, wearing layer upon layer of green makeup and prosthetics, lends his signature goofy star persona to the lead role, while character actors like Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, and Molly Shannon fulfill their Whoville roles with aplomb. The film also made a star of Taylor Momsen as Cindy Lou Who, who memorably sings the twinkly ballad "Where Are You Christmas?".

With the film now celebrating its 25th anniversary, we're taking a look at what the cast has been up to in the 21st century, from major career shifts to award-winning work.**

Jim Carrey plays the eponymous Grinch, a fiendish Whoville outlaw who declares war on the festive season.

Carrey told *** *in 2000 that getting into costume was quite an ordeal. "I was having a lot of trouble with the Grinch suit, so they brought a guy in who actually teaches people how to handle torture, and he gave me a couple of tips. You just forget [the pain]."

After making his reputation in sketch comedy, Carrey broke big in 1994 with three hits — *Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, *and *The Mask* — that made him a bona fide star. The rubber-faced comedian went on to play the Riddler in *Batman Forever* (1995) and starred in *The Cable Guy *(1996) and *Liar Liar *(1997) before making his first dramatic detours. His performances in *The Truman Show* (1998) and the Andy Kaufman biopic *Man on the Moon* (1999) earned him back-to-back Golden Globes.

The Canadian actor continued to flex his dramatic muscles in *The Majestic *(2001) and the romantic sci-fi head-trip *Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind *(2004). But he never left comedy behind, headlining *Bruce Almighty *(2003), *Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events* (2004), and *Yes Man* (2008). Carrey returned to television with a role as a grieving father in *Kidding* and plays Dr. Robotnik in the ongoing *Sonic the Hedgehog* cinematic franchise.

Carrey was married to Melissa Womer from 1987 to 1995. They have a daughter, Jane. The actor later wed his *Dumb and Dumber *costar Lauren Holly in 1996. She filed for divorce less than a year later.

Taylor Momsen plays Cindy Lou Who, a curious child who wants to extend Christmas greetings to the Grinch.

Momsen was 7 years old when she brought Cindy Lou to life, but it took a toll on her middle-school years. "*The Grinch* changed my life in a multitude of ways — one of them being I was made fun of relentlessly," she admitted on *Gossip Girl* costar Penn Badgley's podcast. "Every time I would start a new school or go somewhere else, I don't even think the kids knew my name. I was just Grinch Girl...I got used to it, but it was alienating."

After a few more children's movies and a supporting part in Gus Van Sant's *Paranoid Park *(2007), the "Grinch Girl" joined *Gossip Girl* as Jenny Humphrey.

While the show was a hit, Momsen increasingly turned her attention to music, forming the band the Pretty Reckless in 2009. Two years later, she devoted herself full-time to music, leaving *Gossip Girl* in the middle of the fourth season. The band has four studio albums and seven chart-topping singles under its belt. In 2025, Momsen performed with Soundgarden at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where the surviving members were inducted — *Grinch* costar Jim Carrey introduced the set.

Jeffrey Tambor is the corrupt Mayor of Whoville and the Grinch's lifelong tormenter, Augustus May Who, who sets his hatred of Christmas in motion.

The long-time character actor is well known as talk-show sidekick Hank Kingsley on *The Larry Sanders Show*. Not content with one iconic sitcom role, he added another as crooked family patriarch George Bluth (and occasionally his twin brother, Oscar) on *Arrested Development*.

His most decorated performance came in the lead role of Amazon's *Transparent* as a transgender woman, taking home two Emmys for his work. However, he was later fired from *Transparent* following allegations of sexual misconduct and didn't appear in the show's final season.

As for film, Tambor has appeared in the likes of *There's Something About Mary *(1998), *Hellboy *(2004), *The Hangover *(2009), and *The Death of Stalin *(2017).

Tambor married Kasia Ostlun in 2001. The pair share four children: Gabriel, Eve, and twins Hugo and Eli. He also has daughters from previous relationships.

Christine Baranski (Martha May Whovier)

Christine Baranski plays Martha May Whovier, the Who with the most perfect Christmas decorations in Whoville.

A veteran stage actress, Baranski broke into television with an Emmy-winning performance as Cybill Shepherd's sarcastic best friend on the sitcom *Cybill*. She played ruthless litigator Diane Lockhart on *The Good Wife* and headlined the spinoff, *The Good Fight*. She also had a prominent recurring role as Leonard's mother on *The Big Bang Theory*. Baranski starred in the second season of *Nine Perfect Strangers* and currently has a scene-stealing supporting role as Agnes von Rhijn on the HBO period drama *The Gilded Age.*

In addition to two Tony wins, she's amassed 16 Emmy nominations throughout her small-screen career. The Broadway vet has also become a regular in big-screen musicals, appearing in *Chicago* (2002), *Mamma Mia!* (2008), *Into the Woods* (2014), and *Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again* (2018).

Baranski was married to Matthew Cowles from 1983 until his death in 2014. They have two daughters, Isabel and Lily.

Bill Irwin plays Lou Lou Who, a postal worker and the protective father of Cindy Lou.

Originally a professional clown and stage actor, Irwin won a Tony for *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? *in 2005. But parents and children may know him as Mr. Noodle from *Sesame Street*'s "Elmo's World" segments.

He's become a familiar face across film and television, appearing as Anne Hathaway's father in *Rachel Getting Married* (2008), Matthew McConaughey's wisecracking tactical robot in *Interstellar *(2014), and Mariska Hargitay's therapist on *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*. He was also a regular on FX's surreal comic-book series *Legion* as a mutant scientist who shares a body with a fellow mutant played by Amber Midthunder.

Irwin's marriage to Kimi Okada lasted from 1977 to 1982. He later married Martha Roth in 1990. The couple adopted a son, Santos.

Molly Shannon (Betty Lou Who)

Molly Shannon is Betty Lou Who, Cindy Lou's concerned mother.

Shannon made her name on *Saturday Night Live* and was shooting *The Grinch* simultaneously with her work on the show. It wasn't easy, as she told EW in 2022: "I would get back on the plane Sunday night from New York City to be back in L.A. for a 4 a.m. wake-up because it took hours to put on that prosthetic makeup. It was really hard, but the fact that I pulled that off — shooting both those giant jobs at once — is a miracle."

The actress parlayed her best-known *SNL *character, anxious high schooler Mary Katherine Gallagher, into a feature film, *Superstar* (1999). She's been a regular on the comedy circuit ever since, with TV roles on *Will & Grace*, *Sex and the City*, and *The White Lotus* as well as big-screen appearances in *Wet Hot American Summer* (2001) and *Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby *(2006), among others. The actress has even subverted expectations with her performances in Sofia Coppola's *Marie Antoinette *(2006) and as Emily Dickinson in *Wild Nights With Emily *(2018).

Her television career has continued, starring on *The Other Two* and appearing in season 4 of *Only Murders in the Building *as a clueless Hollywood executive*.* She also released her memoir, *Hello, Molly!*, in 2022.

Shannon and her husband, Fritz Chestnut, wed in 2004. They share two children, Stella and Nolan.

The film's narration is performed by none other than Sir Anthony Hopkins.

A legendary actor of stage and film, Hopkins has been commanding the screen since the late-1960s, from *The Lion in Winter *(1968) to the war epic *A Bridge Too Far* (1977) and David Lynch's *The Elephant Man* (1980).

His career hit another level with *The Silence of the Lambs* (1991), as he turned suave sociopath Hannibal Lecter into an all-time pop culture icon. He won his first Oscar for the role and later earned nominations for *The Remains of the Day* (1993), *Nixon* (1995), and *Amistad* (1997) — not to mention his turn as Van Helsing in *Bram Stoker's Dracula *(1992) and an aging Zorro in *The Mask of Zorro *(1998).

While popping up as Marvel's Odin in the *Thor* franchise and as the theme park creator on HBO's heady sci-fi drama *Westworld*, the Welsh actor has continued to add to his award shelf. He nabbed an Oscar nom for playing Pope Benedict in *The Two Popes* (2019) before winning his second gold statuette for the Alzheimer's drama *The Father *(2020).

Hopkins has been married three times: to Petronella Barker (1966–1972), Jennifer Lynton (1973–2002), and Stella Arroyave since 2003. He has a daughter, Abigail, from his first marriage.

Clint Howard is Bris, the eager and attentive assistant of Whoville's esteemed Mayor.

Howard began acting when he was 2 years old on *The Andy Griffith Show* and has racked up hundreds of screen credits. He's perhaps best known for roles in movies directed by his brother, Ron Howard, including *The Grinch*. Their collaborations include *Cocoon* (1985), *Parenthood* (1989), *Apollo 13* (1995), and *Solo: A Star Wars Story *(2018). And yes, we're counting Clint guest-starring in two episodes of *Arrested Development*, a series narrated by Ron.

The popular character actor, who received a Daytime Emmy nomination for his guest role on *The Bold and the Beautiful* in 2025, also has a long history with the *Star Trek* franchise, dating back to an episode of the original series when he was 7 years old. He's since appeared on *Deep Space Nine*, *Enterprise*, *Discovery*, and *Strange New Worlds*.

Howard was briefly married to Ann Marie Lynch in the late 1980s and later to Melanie Sorich from 1995 to 2018. In 2020, he wed Kat Cruz. The couple has a daughter, Rafa'ella.

Mindy Sterling (Clair Nella Who)

Mindy Sterling plays Clair Nella Who, one of the Grinch's adoptive mothers who tries to raise him to fit in with Whoville's other citizens.

The character actress is best remembered as the villainous Frau Farbissina, one of Dr. Evil's most loyal lackeys, in the Austin Powers franchise. She has played several recurring roles on television, including a bitter English teacher on Nickelodeon's *iCarly* and a snarky neighbor on *Desperate Housewives*. She had a six-season run on *The Goldbergs* as Linda Schwartz and earned two Emmy nominations for her roles on the short-form series *Con Man* and *Secs & Execs*.

Sterling has also maintained a voice acting career, playing characters in *Monsters University* (2013) and the *Despicable Me* series, among many others. She returned to her Who days with a minor role in the computer-animated version of *The Grinch* (2018).

Sterling has a son, Max, with her ex-husband, Brian Gadson.

Eddie Murphy has such a knack for transforming into other characters that he once had Jesse Jackson totally fooled.

In 1988's *Coming to America*, the *Saturday Night Live *star played several different roles, including a scene-stealing elderly barbershop owner. The portrayal was so convincing that the civil rights activist shared his gratitude with Murphy for giving the older actor a part.**

"When we did the original *Coming to America*, at the afterparty, Jesse Jackson came up to me and he was like, 'Hey, you know, I wanna say thank you for looking out for some of the older Black actors and putting them in the film, you know, and giving them a shot because those guys are gonna become stars,'" Murphy said in his Netflix documentary *Being Eddie*.**

"I was like, 'What are you talking about?'" Murphy recalled. "He said, 'Those guys in the barbershop. Man, they're funny, and those guys will get famous because of this.'"

"I was like, 'Motherf---er, that was me,'" Muphy exclaimed, "and he was like, 'What? What? That was you? Now I got to go see the movie again.'"**

Coincidentally, just a few years earlier, Murphy had impersonated Jackson himself on a Feb. 25, 1984 episode of *SNL*.**

In a move he'd later become known for, *Coming to America* was the first time the comedian played multiple characters in the same film. Murphy is credited with playing four roles: Prince Akeem Joffer of Zamunda; Randy Watson, a singer with the fictional soul band Sexual Chocolate; Clarence, an elderly Black barbershop owner; and Saul, an elderly Jewish barbershop customer.

It was far from the last time he'd take on various roles in a film. Murphy went on to play three characters in *Vampire in Brooklyn* (1995), seven in *The Nutty Professor *(1996), two in *Bowfinger* (1999), eight in *Nutty Professor II: The Klumps* (2000), and three in *Norbit* (2007).

Murphy and *Coming to America *costar Arsenio Hall — who also played four different roles in the movie — returned for the sequel *Coming 2 America* in 2021, with both actors reviving all of their original characters.

Murphy elaborated on his love of transformation in the doc, explaining, "When I get a voice or a character, the way my voice sounds, I can lose it completely. There's no sign of my voice. Characters are like real people."

He said the passion dates back to childhood, when he'd watch movies like the 1939 *Hunchback of Notre Dame *starring Charles Laughton on repeat.

"I've always been a fan of makeup movies. There's some makeup, they turn into another person," he explained. "I always gravitated to stuff like that. And I watched that stuff over and over and over and over again."**

*Being Eddie* is on Netflix now.

Marty Smith may have residency in Oxford, Mississippi after covering the Lane Kiffin saga.

The ESPN reporter, who spent nearly all of Saturday and Sunday at the Ole Miss football facility, got a 3-minute interview with Kiffin before the former Rebels coach boarded a private jet set for Baton Rouge to take his next chapter as LSU football coach.

Kiffin reiterated his desire to coach Ole Miss in the upcoming College Football Playoff, but Mississippi athletic director Keith Carter decided against it and promoted defensive coordinator Pete Golding to head coach in Kiffin's place.

"It was really difficult. This has been a really special place. Six years here," Kiffin told Smith. "I know there are a lot of feelings and emotions around right now. I hope when they settle down that there's an appreciation about what we were able to do here and having the best run that's ever been done in the history of the school. Brought some exciting times. I'm so appreciative of the people of Oxford and the relationships that I developed here… Just prayed a lot. Made a family decision and hopefully get a chance to go impact a whole new set of people."

Lane Kiffin says CFP decision came down to Ole Miss AD Keith Carter 'has to live here'

Kiffin told Smith he wasn't part of Sunday's meeting between Carter and the school's chancellor, at Carter's request.

"I totally respect Keith's decision… He asked me not to come to the meeting, which I totally understand," Kiffin said. "I don't know that I necessarily agree, we're trying to find a way to make this work and coach the team and give the team the best chance to win... He's got a job to do, and like he said, he has to live here. So maybe all the national people understand why he should let me be able to coach, but he has to live here, and it's a little different when you're the AD, so totally respect that. And Keith has been amazing to us over the six years."

Lane Kiffin said mentors helped push him to LSU

"My heart was here (Oxford), but I talked to some mentors, coach (Pete) Carroll, coach (Nick) Saban, you know, and especially when coach Carroll said, 'Your dad would tell you to go. Take the shot. Take the shot. You've accomplished a lot here.' I always felt I always hated how we gave one year to Tennessee and then left. I really hated that feeling of that. Even though it was exciting, but I think we gave a lot to this program and to this city, and some of the most historic wins in this stadium they've ever had and best regular season in the history of the school, so I feel proud of that part. But it just became time, you know, talked to God and he told me it's time to take a new step. It's a new chapter."

MONACO (AP) — Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Armand "Mondo" Duplantis have won the World Athlete of the Year titles for 2025.

The international governing body for track and field announced the winners Sunday at ceremony in Monaco, with McLaughlin-Levrone also winning the women's track award and pole vault world-record holder Duplantis winning the men's field events award.

McLaughlin-Levrone has been undefeated for two years in both the 400 meters and the 400-meter hurdles, an event where she's on a 24-race winning streak.

She won the 400 at the world champions in Tokyo, breaking a 42-year-old championship record and setting the second-fastest time ever. That made her the first athlete to win world titles at both the 400 and 400-meter hurdles.

"The culmination of the season in Tokyo was a really special moment," McLaughlin-Levrone said. "I'm so thankful for everyone who supported, watched, voted and who was there throughout this whole process.

"For me, 2025 was a year of stepping outside of the comfort zone and pushing the bounds of what was mentally and physically possible. I want to continue pushing boundaries in 2026."

Duplantis set four world pole vault records, each by 1-centimeter increments, and was unbeaten in 16 competitions in 2025, including world titles.

"I hope to keep pushing it. I hope to keep irritating everyone who has to vote for me for years to come!" Duplantis said. "It's really important for me to win this for the field eventers. It's very special, I'm going to really cherish this one."

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will have surgery Monday to repair a broken bone in his non-throwing hand.

Herbert is optimistic about his chances to play next week for the Chargers (8-4), who beat the Raiders 31-14 on Sunday for their fourth victory in five games. Herbert played the final three quarters against Las Vegas with a hard cast on his left hand while exclusively taking shotgun snaps.

"I think it's one of those things where you just stabilize it (and play)," Herbert said. "I'm not the doctor, unfortunately, but they were hopeful, so I think that's a good thing."

Herbert wasn't sure when his hand was broken, but it appeared to happen late in the Chargers' opening drive when he was thrown to the ground by Raiders safety Jeremy Chinn after a short scramble. Herbert threw a touchdown pass to Quentin Johnston on the next snap, but trainers took him off the field a few minutes later.

Trey Lance took Herbert's place to begin the Chargers' second drive against Las Vegas. After Lance moved the Chargers past midfield and completed his only throw, Herbert returned to the sideline and took some practice snaps before joining the drive with a protective glove over his cast.

"What I know is that he's as tough as they come," Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said. "He taped it up, (put on a) glove and played a great game."

Herbert quickly completed passes to Keenan Allen and Oronde Gadsden before throwing an interception to Kyu Blu Kelly, who stepped in front of Ladd McConkey at the goal line. That difficult pick was Herbert's only turnover despite his limited ability to hold onto the ball.

"Ball security is at a paramount, and I think I did a good enough job of that today in the pocket," Herbert said. "Just get the ball to the running backs."

The Chargers and Raiders were tied at halftime, but Herbert led two long scoring drives in the second half. His offense converted 12 of its 17 third downs while outgaining Las Vegas 341-156.

Herbert has 2,842 yards passing with 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season, his sixth for the Chargers.

Herbert had to play with a splint on a broken finger on his left hand after it got caught in a Raiders defender's helmet in 2023, but he also missed the final four games of that season after breaking a finger on his right hand while playing against Denver. Those four games were the only injury absence of Herbert's career.

"In terms of experience, I've gone through so many things," Herbert said. "I think it will be helpful, but at the end of the day, just got to go out there and make sure everything is good, you're comfortable, and as long as the trainers and doctors are feeling it's safe to return to play, I trust those guys completely."

The Chargers got nowhere near the playoffs in 2023, but Herbert's current team is in playoff position with five games to play, and he doesn't want to miss a chance to chase his first postseason victory.

Los Angeles' remaining games are a gauntlet against five opponents currently over .500 — starting with a visit from defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia next Monday night.

"I'm treating it as if I'm playing Monday," Herbert said. "I think they were very hopeful for that, so I think that's just something we'll see tomorrow and get a feel for."

- *Zootopia 2 *topped the Thanksgiving weekend box office with an astounding $156 million domestic gross and an additional $400 million abroad.

- *Wicked: For Good*, last weekend's big winner, fell to the No. 2 spot on both charts, but still scared up $62.8 million domestically in its second weekend.

- It isn't likely any title on next weekend's release calendar has the power to topple both *Wicked *and *Zootopia*, but one contender is horror sequel *Five Nights at Freddy's 2*.

If *Wicked: For Good *was going to fall from box office grace after only one week at the top spot, at least Elphaba will be glad that it was because of a bunch of talking animals.

*Zootopia 2 *ran wild at the box office this Thanksgiving weekend, topping the domestic chart with $156 million (including Wednesday and Thursday previews) and the international chart with $400 million, making for a staggering cumulative premiere gross of $556 million globally, per Comscore.

That represented a decisive victory against its big sequel competitor, which would have run roughshod over any other new release this season. *Wicked: For Good *still fared quite well, conjuring up a bounteous $62.8 million in its second weekend domestically ($93 million when expanded to five days). That makes for a 57 percent drop from its $150 million premiere last weekend, but there's no doubt this film has legs that will confidently walk it all the way through the holidays.

Featuring the voices of stars like Shakira, Quinta Brunson, and Macaulay Culkin, *Zootopia 2 *likely performed so exceedingly well due to the relative recent dearth of family films on the release calendar. Before this weekend, the only studio to release animated family fare into theaters this month was Universal, and it was a limited, 25th anniversary re-release of 2000's *Chicken Run*.

*Zootopia 2 *not only bested *Wicked*'s thrillifying conclusion at the box office this weekend, but it far surpassed the proceeds from its predecessor's premiere. *Zootopia *opened to $75 million in 2016. Even taking out the preview revenue, *Zootopia 2 *still earned $96.8 million at the Thanksgiving box office. With a global start in excess of half a million, the sequel is on track to blow past the first film's global end-run of $1 billion.

Elsewhere on the domestic and global charts, two holdovers proved their staying power. ****

*Now You See Me: Now You Don't* held fast to the No. 3 spot domestically with a week three take of $7 million, dropping only 22 percent from last week. That's after a reduction of 311 screens, too. In No. 4, *Predator Badlands *turned in a remarkably similar performance, dropping only 27 percent in week four with a $4.8 million take, but adding up to $85 million cumulatively, where the illusionist thriller threequel currently boasts $49.6 million overall at the domestic box office.

In the weekend's other new premieres, A24's afterlife rom-com *Eternity *scored a strong $5.2 million on its estimated $2 million budget, and Chloe Zhao's Oscar hopeful *Hamnet *earned $1.3 million in its one-weekend limited release.

Next week, *Zootopia 2 *and *Wicked: For Good *will likely block any would-be usurpers at the box office.

*Hamnet* opens wide, but given its scaling, subject matter, and targeting of awards voters, rather than general audiences, the chances of it leaping to No. 1 are virtually impossible. What may stand a chance, albeit a slim one, is Universal and Blumhouse's *Five Nights at Freddy's 2*.

The animatronic horror with a slight bend towards kids arrives in the long shadow cast by the first film's gangbusters debut. In 2023, *Five Nights at Freddy's *became a Halloween weekend hit with an $80 million premiere, resulting in a lifetime global gross of $291.5 million. Box office watchers will have to wait to find out if horror is the correct wedge to disrupt what looks from here to be *Wicked *and *Zootopia*'s assured dominance in the first weekend of December.

Paul Walker's daughter is paying tribute to her beloved dad.

On Sunday, 12 years to the day after the car accident that claimed the *Fast & Furious *franchise star's life, the model and philanthropist shared a series of images accompanied by a touching caption on her Instagram to commemorate his life.

"12 years without you… I love you forever," Meadow wrote, over a series of three pictures depicting Paul kneeling before a toddler-aged Meadow, who sits on a counter looking at her dad with a smile. In the pictures, Paul holds a plate with up to his daughter containing a dessert festooned with candles, which she considers before giving her dad a peck on the lips.**

Walker's sudden and tragic passing rocked Hollywood in 2013.

The actor was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle when the driver, racing pro Roger Rodas, lost control of Walker's Porsche Carrera GT and struck a concrete lamp post in Santa Clarita, Calif. The car caught fire upon impact, and both men were pronounced dead when authorities arrived on the scene.

Meadow has paid tribute to her late father on the anniversary of his death in the past, taking the occasion in 2021 to fundraise for various charities that held a special place in Paul's heart during his lifetime, including Toys for Tots.

"To honor my dad's legacy, we hope you'll join us to Do Good," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "From building schools, to advocating for ocean conservancy, to our annual scholarship, affecting positive change is at the heart of everything we do. We love and appreciate you."

Meadow's call to give back was not a one-off, either. Through the Paul Walker Foundation that Meadow established 2015, she has helped keep his giving spirit alive by supporting initiatives benefitting wildlife conservation and ocean protection, and awarding an annual scholarship benefitting a student aspiring to dedicate their lives to such disciplines.

Nearly one week after he was at the center of a heated confrontation with an opponent, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings once again has drawn the ire of multiple members of another team.

After the 49ers' 26-8 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Browns defensive tackle Shelby Harris alleged that Jennings crossed a line with his remarks while defensive tackle Maliek Collins was injured. Collins left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury and did not return.

"He says some things that you should not say to a man, ever," Harris, who did not elaborate on the nature of Jennngs' comments, told reporters after the game. "But I don't respect it because you say that (and) then run behind your O-line. That's some real soft (expletive), and I want that known.

"I see why they punched your (groin). I'm surprised nobody punched him in the jaw yet."

Collins' remark referenced Carolina Panthers safety Tre'von Moehrig punching Jennings in the groin area toward the end of the 49ers' win on Nov. 24. Moehrig, who was suspended for one game for the incident, said the receiver was "talking crazy" during the game.

"He had a lot to say that was demeaning and disparaging toward some of our players," Browns defensive end Myles Garrett said of Jennings. "I was just trying to separate everybody. I tried to go up and ask what the problem was, and he started coming at me. Some guys just roll like that. I don't feel like that belongs in the game, but if that works for them, then hey, more power to them."

Jennings hauled in a fourth-quarter touchdown to extend the 49ers' lead and help put the game out of reach.
