In Derry, Maine, whatever you do, don't go into the sewers.

Because in the mysterious small town, which is the setting of HBO's horror-drama "IT: Welcome to Derry," that decision can have deadly consequences at the hands of a sinister clown.

The popular show is based on Stephen King's iconic horror novel and serves as a prequel to the 2017 and 2019 "It" movies.

In a recent interview with USA TODAY, actor Chris Chalk, who plays psychic Dick Hallorann, says his character is facing his own trauma amid all the evil lurking in Derry.

"No one else can see it. And there's a monster in town! I can't imagine that it's going to get better for him," Chalk explained.

Here's what we know about the episodes of "IT: Welcome to Derry" and when they will be released.

First up: 'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' (Paramount+, Sept. 4): Michael Weatherly (Tony) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva) return to their star-making "NCIS" roles in this spy caper spinoff featuring Isla Gie as their daughter Tali.
