Ophelia Frump is the sister of Catherine-Zeta Jones' Morticia Addams. She was committed by Willow Hill by their mother, Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley) before she escaped the psychiatric hospital. At the end of Season 2, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) reads Ophelia's journal, as given to her by Morticia, and sees a vision of a woman with long blond hair and a flower crown. The vision turns dark when Ophelia is revealed to be kept in a cell in Hester's mansion, where she is wearing a red dress and writing on the wall in blood: "Wednesday must die."

"I'm thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia," Green said in a statement. "This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can't wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family."

"Wednesday" is one of Netflix's biggest hits ever, with Season 1 ranking No. 1 on the global TV chart. The show, based on the characters created by Charles Addams, also stars Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán and Fred Armisen.
