One of the decorated wrestlers of his generation, the 48-year-old's historic career reached its pinnacle during a career-closing match on Saturday Night's Main Event.

While Cena's showdown against Gunther was the event's centerpiece, Johnson, famously known as The Rock, delivered a heartfelt farewell ahead of the wrestling icon's monumental final bout.

On Instagram, the Moana star dedicated a video post to the WWE icon, honoring his legacy in the wrestling community.

Johnson, who described Cena as his "friend" and "brother," thanked him for his contribution and immense passion to the world of professional wrestling.

"John, Saturday, December 13, the time has come, you are wrestling your final match in your unbelievably blessed and historic career," he said. "I wanna share a few things with you, man, before you go out and, as we say in wrestling, 'tear the house down' with Gunther. I wanna say thank you so much for the contribution. All your accomplishments. Your passion, your commitment to this wild and crazy world that's unpredictable and all the things that it is of professional wrestling that we love."

Moreover, he recalled their "incredible" time in the ring, especially the blood and sweat they shared while pursuing the same passion. At the same time, he also expressed how proud he was of Cena's remarkable achievement.

"I feel like you and I, we have this wild and crazy history, and yes, we have spilled blood together in our matches, literally, we have torn tendons in our matches, literally, we have broken records, that has been incredible and I'll always be proud of that. What you and I have accomplished together as a team along with the rest of the rosters during those days," he said.

The Smashing Machine star mentioned a playful realization of the WWE star's decades-long career.

"The most important thing that I realized over the years of our relationship and our bond and our friendship, the thing that I discovered about you that I love the most is your jorts," he said. Kidding aside, he spoke about how a "good human being" Cena is.

"The more I go down the road of life, the more I realize how important being a good human being is and being kind to people and treating people nice and being nice to people. It is nice to be important but it's more important to be nice. You epitomize that quote," he said.

Lastly, the 53-year-old actor also acknowledged the unwavering commitment and support of the Cena family for their "sacrifices" and how proud they are of the wrestling legend.

As mentioned, besides his highly anticipated matchup with "The Ring General" Gunther as his last opponent, the night was dedicated to the 17-time WWE Champion, celebrating his remarkable accomplishments throughout his career.
