What Lane Kiffin said about Ole Miss' Fiesta Bowl loss to Miami
Former Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin was a key talking point heading into Thursday's Fiesta Bowl between the Rebels and Miami.
And the new LSU coach posted twice on social media during the Rebels' Fiesta Bowl loss on Jan. 8.
He thought Miami should've been called for pass interference on the final play of the game. He also applauded Ole Miss' run in the College Football Playoff, which included wins over Tulane and Georgia.
The Rebels lost 31-27 to the Hurricanes at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Miami advanced to the national championship game and will play either Indiana or Oregon on Jan. 19 in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Kiffin kicked off a soap opera and dominated the coaching carousel when he left Ole Miss at the end of the regular season for LSU. Defensive coordinator Pete Golding was promoted to head coach, while Kiffin brought a number of assistants with him to Baton Rouge — though many stuck around to coach in the CFP, which caused additional drama.
"Amazing effort and grit," Kiffin wrote on X, followed by tagging the Ole Miss football account and a crying face emoji. "best season ever in the history of Ole Miss!! (Blue heart emoji) you guys."
The post was accompanied with a gif of a heart breaking.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw a go-ahead 24-yard touchdown to tight end Dae'Quan Wright with 3:13 remaining. Miami then took the lead back on Carson Beck's 3-yard rushing touchdown with 18 seconds left.
Chambliss' pass to the back corner of the end zone from 35 yards away fell incomplete on the final play of the game.
"Pass interference!!!" Kiffin posted on X with a 100-points symbol emoji.
Pass interference 💯!!! https://t.co/99jrGosJ5w
