Kelly Clarkson went K-pop for her latest Kellyoke session!
During the Tuesday, Jan. 13 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer and talk show host delivered a powerful cover of "What It Sounds Like" from the 2025 hit Netflix movie KPop Demon Hunters.
Clarkson, 43, sported a taupe, vest-like jumper over black nylons and a black long-sleeve shirt as she quietly began the power ballad.
By the chorus, the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker's voice grew stronger as she belted the title of the song: "Why did I cover up the colors stuck inside my head? / I should've let the jagged edges meet the light instead / Show me what's underneath, I'll find your harmony / The song we couldn't write, this is what it sounds like."
On the second verse, Clarkson's backing band turned "What It Sounds Like" into a rock rendition of the song.

The "Where Have You Been" performer also sat down with Arden Cho, who voices Rumi from the band HUNTR/X in KPop Demon Hunters.
During the conversation, the Teen Wolf alum, 40, revealed how playing the role of Rumi helped her "heal."
"Growing up with this confusion of identity, feeling like there's not a place for me, I'm Korean, Korean-American, I'm Asian. I think I'm American, I'm born in Texas, I thought I was Texan. But then when people ask like, "Where are you from?" That's not what they're looking for," said Cho.

She continued, "When I started as an actor, I felt like it was really hard to find my identity and who I was. And it was almost like, sometimes I wasn't Asian enough. Sometimes I was too Asian, or I wasn't the kind of Asian people expected me to be."
Cho noted that during her 20s and 30s, she found herself trying to be "perfect" or someone that she wasn't.
At some point during her 30s, she said she was really able to embrace her Korean culture and who she was,
"[I] was like, 'You know what, I am Korean, and I love K-pop, I love K-fashion. I love all these things that people might think is weird. I love Korean food," said Cho.
Cho recalled being made fun of because people would "complain" about the textures or smells of the foods.
"I wasn't strong enough, I think, to just own it," she said. "And I feel like that has helped me figure out who I am and the woman I'm supposed to be."
Cho related to Rumi's journey in KPop Demon Hunters because "she sort of battles hiding who she is."
"And I loved that, again, her sort of losing it all, breaking down and being exposed was the thing that helped her rebuild," she said.
KPop Demon Hunters follows musical girl group HUNTR/X — Rumi, Mira and Zoey — who juggle their lives as superstars with a secret mission. After they aren't able to sell out stadiums, they use their hidden identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from supernatural threats.
The animated film has become a global sensation since premiering in June 2025, and by August, it was breaking records as the platform's most popular film of all time with over 236 million views.
